Today, I’ll show you how to quickly and easily make your own lemon pepper seasoned salmon, so that you can still have a healthy meal without much effort!
As you might imagine, I hate to do the dishes, so I just add the seasonings right onto my salmon instead of trying to mix them in a bowl first. I honestly just eyeball things until I think, “Yep, the fish looks seasoned!” Therefore, the quantities listed for the seasonings in this recipe are approximate.
For each salmon steak (250g-0.5pounds) you’ll need:
- 1 teaspoon of extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for the grill
- 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 lemon
- 1/2 tablespoons mixed chopped herbs such as tarragon, marjoram, thyme or parsley
First, preheat grill to medium-high heat. Then, oil the grill grates and brush the salmon all over with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
After, arrange the salmon on the grill, skin-side down and cook up to about 15 minutes in total. If you want, you can flip the salmon once, until it is golden brown on both sides. To flip the salmon, you can use a spatula or a rimless baking sheet to help you.
Meanwhile, arrange the lemons on the grill. I usually put some of them on the salmon and others cut-sides down around the grill. Finally, grill all the ingredients from 5 to 7 minutes and you’re done! You’ll just need to carefully transfer the salmon to a platter, scatter some herbs over the top and serve with lemons on the side for squeezing.
