MAKEUP REVOLUTION REDEMPTION PALETTES: REVIEW

I was lacking some eyeshadow palettes for my summer holidays so I went to my local superdrug and I picked up two Makeup Revolution Redemption Palettes. I chose these palettes because I find they’re an ideal size for traveling, and as they’re really cheap I feel it wouldn’t be a drama if they broke while packing (these only cost £4).

The first palette I got is the Essential Mattes 2 wish is a neutral matte palette, with a great mix of skin tone colours to gorgeous chocolate browns. Overall, I think the colour selection is great, there are warm tones as well as cool tones and either shade would be great for an every day look, no matter what your skin tone  is.

Although I’d say that the lighter shades are not highly pigmented, the darker shades have great pigmentation. I actually use the brown shades for my brows as well and I think they look quite nice. The shadows are a bit powdery but the overall texture is good and the fallouts are minimum. Also, the staying power is 4-5 hours without primer, which is pretty good for the price. Another hit from Makeup Revolution.

I was feeling brave so when I saw the Mermaids vs Unicorns palette I knew I had to buy it. I also thought I could go from day to night looks with just these shades so it’d be great for travelling. Although I’m usually very careful when picking colored shadows as I’m not one for “brights”, I think that when chosen and mixed in the right ways these tones look great. Having used it a few times now, I can say that  the colour pay off is amazing and it’s really easy to get a nice, subtle look or a really bold fun one. I just love the two different sets of colors in the same palette!

The only thing I don’t like about the palettes is the sponge applicator they come with. Does anyone still use these?  I think the palette would be smaller without the brush but I understand why it’s there, not everyone has brushes. Also, there’s no mirror along with it, but I don’t really mind that. However, I really recommend these palettes, amazing product for the price.

Hope you’ve enjoyed the read! If you’ve tried any of the Makeup Revolution Redemption palettes let me know in the comments down below.

I love these palettes, Makeup Revolution are quite popular with their eyeshadow ranges! And the colours are always so pretty. Especially these smaller palettes which are really good for the price!
