I was really lacking an everyday pinky-nude color in my makeup bag, so when I saw the Bourjois Contour Edition Lip Pencil in the shade 01 Nude Wave and the Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in the shade 04 Rose Tweed I knew I had to get them. Both shades are really similar so they look amazing when I apply them on my lips.
Let’s walkabout the lip pencil first. The design is a simple pencil but its super easy to sharpen. I’ve found that some of the newer lip pencils are not made with the traditional wood and it drives me nuts as I can’t sharpen them properly. The application goes on smoothly and then sets matte. The formula is creamy without being too soft, so it doesn’t break off when using. Yes, I love everything about this lip pencil!
After lining my lips I apply the lipstick, as I find that it’s great at stopping feathering which is a pet hate of mine and helps my lip look last longer.
So let me tell you what I think of the lipstick. The fist thing I have to say is that I love the glossy black packaging with the transparent bottom section to identify the colour, really elegant. The lipstick itself is very creamy and glides onto my lips easily without any drying whatsoever. I also love the shade I selected -a mauve pink colour, perfect for an everyday look. I’d say the pigmentation isn’t really intense but you can layer it to achieve an opaque look. In terms of longevity, it lasts around 4-5 hours if not eating but after lunch I have to reapply it as most of it rubs off leaving the color quite uneven. I don’t mind that though.
What I like the most about this product is that it feels incredibly nourishing and moisturizing on the lips, making it very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. Perhaps a downside due to the moisturizing ingredients is that the texture is kind of slippery, but that’s the only thing.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this review! If you’ve tried any of these products or want you want to get them let me know in the comments!
